Staff at SDN Hamilton Street Children’s Education and Care Centre in Bathurst will benefit from a $9,990 grant from the NSW Government to fund staff training and resource development.
The grant will contribute to providing staff development opportunities, educational resource development and engaging community members. Specifically the reengagement of Aboriginal children and low income families where enrolments have declined due to COVID-19 and other unforeseen circumstances such as flood, bushfire, drought and other natural disasters.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole announced the support as part of the Early Childhood Community Grants program.
“This grant will provide staff development opportunities such as training and conferences that promote outreach to Aboriginal children and children from low income families,” Mr Toole said.
“Between bushfires and COVID-19, our community has faced a number of challenges over the past few years. Early learning services play a critical role in supporting children and families.
“It’s fantastic to see this funding being made available to support the work of the services that SDN Children Services provides.”
