Chelsea Reeve is a thriving yet busy young woman who has just been named the 2022 Royal Bathurst Show’s Young Rural Achiever Grand Champion.
Miss Reeve is a local young woman who is currently studying honours of Agriculture at University of New England Armidale. She has been involved with the Royal Bathurst Show for many years competing and volunteering including making the Royal Agricultural Society Junior Judging Group 10 Zone Finals in 2018.
Miss Reeve has also been named 2022 Chairperson for the UNE Farming Futures Executive Committee allowing her the platform to help younger likeminded agricultural enthusiasts to become part of the industry.
Unable to make the ceremony due to university commitments, Member for Bathurst Paul Toole met with Chelsea to present her ribbons and congratulate her on the title.
“The Young Rural Achiever program recognises the fantastic things our youth are doing and the contributions they are making to our community,” Mr Toole said.
“The program provides young people like Chelsea with an opportunity to promote themselves within their communities, expand their networks and play a role in promoting shows, rural living and agriculture.”
After completing high school Miss Reeve attended the University of New England to undertake a Bachelor of Agriculture, which she completed in 2021.
“Growing up on a small family farm near Bathurst provided me with the initial drive to explore the sheep industry. This has now flourished into something that has powered my desire to pursue a career within the Australian sheep and wool industry,” said Miss Reeve.
“Overall, I have a great enthusiasm to continually learn more and broaden my horizons with a strong commitment to the Australian agricultural industry.”
