RESOURCES FOR REGIONS DELIVERS HALL FOR BELL, CLARENCE, AND DARGAN

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole has announced Resources for Regions funding of $411,961 for the completion of a new community hall that will service Bell, Clarence and Dargan residents.

Since the devastation of the 2019 bushfires, community residents from the Association of Bell, Clarence, and Dargan (ABCD) have rallied together to advocate and raise funds for a new community hall.

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the support from the NSW Government will take the community hall from a pipedream to a reality.

“This area was one of the worst hit by the bushfires of 2019 and recovery is ongoing,” Mr Toole said.

“The new community hall is another step towards residents building a community facility that will be used as a meeting place and a place to come together."

“This hall will be a first of its kind for the village. Once complete, it will be the only building in the area large enough to fit a community gathering or event.”

Mr Toole said the Resources for Regions grant will specifically fund the construction phase up to lock up stage.

To raise additional funds for the community hall’s fit out and furnishings, ABCD has pavers also available for purchase.

ABCD President Kat Boehringer said the sale of pavers will fund the internal fit out of the hall.

“The pavers are an opportunity for community members to have their names or drawings included on such a significant project for our area,” Ms Boehringer said.

“We are so grateful for Paul Toole and the NSW Government’s for supporting us in allowing us to get the hall to lock up stage.”

The local infrastructure improvements at Lithgow are a key to helping the community and comes thanks to the NSW Government’s $75 million Resources for Regions, Round Eight.
