A new and upgraded playground at Eglinton Oval has been officially opened by Member for Bathurst Paul Toole and Bathurst Mayor Cr Ian North.
The $272,160 upgrade has been an instant hit with parents and children.
“The new playground is suited for children of all ages and abilities so that as many youngsters as possible benefit from having it virtually in their own backyard,” Mr Toole said.
“Some of the features of the playground are a giant, all-abilities bucket swing, new seating and picnic areas, beautification works, shade, rubber soft-fall, mulched areas and new paths to connect with the nearby car park.”
Mr Toole said the location for the playground upgrade at Eglinton Oval was identified as being ideal for this project due to its proximity to a residential area, the local public school, adjacent sporting fields and tennis courts.
