BRIGHT FUTURE SECURED FOR THE KANDOS COMMUNITY CHARITY SHOP

A visit to Kandos must include a stopover at the Kandos Community Charity Shop in Angus Avenue.

People are known to come from far and wide to grab a bargain at the store where there are literally thousands of items, all generously donated by residents from across the district.

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole left the local volunteers who help run the shop almost speechless with a recent visit when he presented them with a giant cheque for more than $130,000.

“This funding from the NSW Government will ensure the Kandos Community Charity Shop is around for many years to come,” he said.

“It will allow much-needed repairs to be made to the building as well as the installation of a solar system in order to reduce ongoing running costs.

“As part of the makeover the front façade will also be given a new coat of paint which is needed to maintain the building.

“The overall aim of the project is to breathe new life into the Kandos Community Charity Shop while ensuring OHS compliance.”

Mr Toole said money raised in this shop is donated back to various local community organisations which highlights the importance of the shop to the district.
